Over 175 wineries converge on Nantucket during the weekend of May 19 and 20, 2012,
for the focal point of the Nantucket Wine Festival – the Grand Tastings. The newly
renovated Nantucket Yacht Club promises the best Grand Tasting ever. Sample great food from some of Nantucket’s great restaurants and the culinary offerings of special guest celebrity chefs and artisan food producers, and enjoy delicious wines presented and served by their winemakers, at the Nantucket Wine Festival Harbor Gala. The Gala will be held at the White Elephant Hotel on Thursday, May 17th at 6:00 PM.
The Figawi Race Weekend is recognized as a top sailing event not only on the east coast but is known nationally and internationally. Over 240 boats and more than 3,000
sailors and visitors will convene for the Northeast’s first major regatta, to kick off the Cape Cod and Nantucket summer season.

Founded in 1996 to promote the cultural awareness and appreciation of the art of
screenwriting in the world of cinema, the Nantucket Film Festival screens a world-class
program of independent, studio-produced, foreign, documentary, and short films in every genre, including many theatrical premieres. Approximately 20 feature films and 15–25 short films are selected annually every June with an eye for great screenwriting and storytelling. Celebrating its 17th Anniversary this year, the NFF has become one of the premiere destination film festivals in the world. Visitors come from all over to
experience the preview screenings, signature events, and stand-out hospitality on a magical island, rich with history, a friendly atmosphere, and beautiful sandy beaches. Nantucket’s Dreamland Theater, originally built in 1832, has a rich history, and is
reputed to be the oldest independent movie theater operation in the USA. A 32-million dollar renovation, scheduled for completion in late spring, will result in a 330-seat movie
theater, a multi-function studio theater, and outdoor community space.
